The bee is more honored than other animals, not because she labors, but because she labors for others”

— Saint John Chrysostom

Bio- About the Beekeeper

I’m Dave Drugan, a sideline beekeeper with ten years of experience working with honey bees in Western Massachusetts. What started as a curiosity quickly became a deep commitment to the craft of beekeeping and the health of our environment. Through my business, Buzz Off Bee Co., I manage a network of hives across Hampden and Hampshire Counties, partnering with small farms to provide critical pollination services for crops and flowers.

My work is rooted in supporting local agriculture. Trailering bees to fields and orchards during bloom is just one part of what I do - it’s also about building strong relationships with farmers and helping ensure productive harvests year after year. When you support Buzz Off Bee Co., you’re supporting a more sustainable, locally rooted food system.

And when it comes to honey - let’s be honest, not all honey is the same. If the label doesn’t say “local honey,” there’s a good chance it came from somewhere else, often blended or processed.  Our honey is raw, and produced by bees working right here in our community. Each jar tells the story of a place, a season, and a beekeeper who was there for every step of the journey.
